Elle Glenny, 32, Glasgow. Elle’s background is in community organising focused on class, housing, wealth redistribution, and mutual aid. They have delivered training and educational programmes across a wide range of working-class spaces and have organised around class and climate justice for nearly a decade. Elle grew up in council housing and, from their early teens, without parental care, an experience that grounds their political work.

Joe Hamilton, 29, Leeds. Joe has relied on informal organising throughout his life, within working-class communities and the sex industry. Over the past two years he has been developing skills in facilitation and developing educational content on class. He is involved in Leeds Redistribution Collective. 

Dom Hunter, 47, Sheffield. Dom has been active in social justice movements for over twenty years and has been delivering educational content on class, resistance, and organising in working-class communities for over a decade. He grew up without stable care or housing, spending time in the care system and youth offending institutions, before drug addiction, street homelessness and prison, until the gateway drugs of Gramsci, direct action and social centres redirected him. He has recently completed a PhD researching working-class resistance.

Becky Ross, 32, Sheffield. Becky organises around homelessness abolition, work she built largely on her own before bringing others into it, and is now developing a training team.

Bevan Lal Richardson, 40, Sheffield. Bevan organises around anti-raids and migrant justice in Sheffield, and is involved in the Sheffield redistribution group.

Bibi Letts, 32, Brighton. Formerly a lead organiser at Resource Justice, Bibi has organised within social movements for several years, including sex worker rights campaigning. She is our current middle-class member, having grown up in stable conditions in Nottingham.

Dre, 23, Leeds. Dre works in a library doing informal education, and is interested in developing political education for children and adults in the tradition of Sunday schools and supplementary schools.

Elliot Raine, 33, Leeds. Elliot has been organising in wealth redistribution for the last 3 years. They’ve spent 8 years in a workers co-op bar and venue. They spent 7 years producing and performing events in queer diy events, including co-founding a working class drag night. And are passionate about seeing more class consciousness, conversations and working class people in art spaces.

Karle, 31, Herefordshire, Karle has been active in social justice movements for nearly 10 years, being involved in a diverse range of organising; from supporting youth led campaigns, street level mutual aid, targeted direct action & occupations, to delivering talks, trainings & teaching practical skills. He grew up between the care system & precarity in impoverished rural towns – an experience that informs his work with ARC & current organising around class in the land work sector.

Kerri Gallacher, 40, London. Kerri has been active in housing activism and other working-class movements for almost two decades. She grew up on a council estate in Scotland, experienced homelessness in her mid-teens, and has organised across squatting movements, land-based movements, and community organising spaces ever since. She currently organises with the London Renters Union, with a focus on building working-class power and leadership.

Louis Slater, 28, Bristol. Louis has a background in direct action campaigns, but in the last few years, their focus has shifted towards slower community organising strategies. Louis concentrates their time on projects that are directly related to their lived experience, such as work involving black liberation, working class resistance and psychiatric abolition. Within this work, they particularly prioritise efforts around community democracy and wealth redistribution.
